To remove some of the friction in the discovery experience around the LA tech & startup community, we’ve developed a single online destination which aggregates news, events, jobs and other resources from multiple LA-based organizations. Our hope is that with the introduction of these consolidated resources, we can further grow and promote the Silicon Beach LA community. To enhance our “one-stop shop” offering, we’re working with another LA startup, Fliptu, to integrate its social media aggregation engine which will enable Silicon Beach LA companies to synch their social media accounts into a single display on the Silicon Beach LA site, thereby enabling community members to keep up with their favorite LA companies and people 24/7, in one spot. We also host a “live stream” of media shared by anyone using the #SiliconBeachLA hashtag on Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube. Known as “Silicon Beach Live,” the media stream is a real time, visual snapshot of what’s happening in Silicon Beach.
We’re also taking strides to bridge online and offline with our community tour bus, ‘Monica.’ Monica will travel to tech and media events throughout the year, including SXSWi and TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, to promote the Silicon Beach tech & media community. Much more to come!
